This was originally called the Moshiem Mansion. That would be the name of the previous owner and builder of the home. The owner was Emil Moshiem. Emil was a German immigrant that immigrated to the United States East Coast in 1881. Shortly after he moved to the US he made his way to Seguin Texas.
In 1983 he married a woman whos' family was from Brazil.
Her name was Lenora Mary Lowther. Emil made a living as a lawyer.
The house was built on a lot that Emil had purchased and had previously been owned by Texas Governor John Ireland. In 1898 he built the home on that lot, that had 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and was the first home in Seguin with running water and electricity. The house was also built with coal burning Fireplaces.
Emil and Lenora had 10 kids, 4 boys, and 6 girls. It is reported that 3 of those children died of unknow causes. Two were girls and one was a boy.
In the 1980's the house was purchased by a Buick Dealer in town to be used as his use car lot. He added the extra parking.
