New Orleans Hotel

New Orleans Hotel Eureka Springs Ark

This hotel was built in 1892. It was originally opened as the Wadsworth.

In 1915 the advertisements for this hotel offered steam heat, electric lights and was fifty cents or one

dollar per day depending on if you had your own bath.

The hotel changed names and became the Hotel Allred.

Book A Room

Reported Hauntings

This hotel does not boast to be haunted but the people coming and going tell a different story.  I have found that some have experienced some "strange things" while being in or around the hotel.

It was reported while staying at the location in room 106 a person had someone sit on the edge of the bed that they were sleeping in.  The person  sleeping was a male and it freaked him out that someone had gotten in his room and much less had the nerve to just plop down on the side of the bed that he was sleeping in and he came up fighting.  But he found that he was only fighting air.  He got up and checked the room and found no one in the room but he knows what he felt and was uncomfortable in that room from there on out.

It was reported to me that a maintenance man died in the hotels elevator (that is no longer Operational).  It is said that for a time he would haunt that elevator.  It is rumored that he has moved on from the elevator but only because he is happy with the way the hotel is being run and managed these days.  But I am pretty sure that he comes back occasionally to make sure things are being done to his standard.

People have reported hearing voices call out to them from inside  the hotel  when no one is in the hotel but to confirm someone did not sneak in unnoticed they did go check the whole hotel to make  sure.  They  have been called into rooms and found no one inside the room.

People report hearing strange sounds such as a loud crash on the floor above them that shakes the ceiling, and then go and check the  room to see what fell and find nothing out of place.

Letter's of personal Experiences

Room 106 New Years 2022

My friend and I stayed in the New Orleans hotel this past New Years and stayed in room 106. Before we had got there we called to see if our room was ready because we were going to be there a little earlier then planned and the Clerk told us our room was ready.

When we got there we checked in and she told us room was 106 was upstairs to the left down the hall, when we went upstairs to find our room we couldn’t find it. It wasn’t there. Feeing silly we continued to look around for it and couldn’t find it. We eventually went back down stairs where we checked in and told her we couldn’t find it. So she came upstairs with us to show us where our room was. It was exactly where she told us it was, but our door was wide opened and trashed inside. The lady apologized to us telling us it was clean earlier and told us they would clean it ASAP.

I wish I would have taken a picture of the room, now knowing what I know now about the room. The bed was unmade. There was trash all over. There was these google eyes all over the place and even under the bed. But the most weird item was what looked like a black bar of soap with a dirt black rag underneath it on the bedside lamp table on the left when we walked in. We told the lady we would be back in a little while so they could clean it.

Later that night when my friend and I got back from a night out on the town we were a little spooked out because we just went on the haunted tour of the Crescent hotel. We decided we would sleep with the lights on because we get spooked out easy. Later that night around 2 am I was abruptly woken up because someone sat down next to me on the end of my bed! I screamed and sat up and told my friend what happened. The rest of the night I was not able to sleep feeling a heaviness in the room and the presence of someone else in there.

Later that morning my friend and I checked out and went to breakfast. My friend and I were discussing what happened that night and she later told me she had experienced something too but didn’t want to tell me because she knew I was already freaked out. She told me she heard someone come in the room and heard the bathroom sink turn on. We decided to look up to see if anyone else had haunted experiences in that hotel and that’s when we came across this post and about the same experience I had experienced in room 106.

My friend and I then decided that for some reason someone didn’t want us staying in that room considering we couldn’t find our room when we got there and the fact that the door was open and it was trashed.
